ICC and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest in order to promote sustainable economic growth, revive global trade and advance the transition to a green economy.

The two organisations already have a long history of cooperation across a variety of policy areas and initiatives, ranging from ICC’s input to the OECD initiative for safe international mobility during the COVID-19 pandemic, to collaboration on whistle-blowing guidelines. The new memorandum of understanding will help reinforce and deepen collaboration between ICC and OECD in areas of mutual interest, including supporting access to private sector data and insights, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and expertise and promoting the global dissemination of standards and best practices – complementing the existing work of Business at the OECD.

ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO said:

“We’re proud to partner with the OECD in support of its international policy and standard-setting work. Our global reach in developed and developing countries will enable the voice and backing of the private sector to further advance multilateralism and global cooperation for more widespread peace and prosperity.”

OECD Secretary General Mathias Cormann said:

“To help deliver better policies for better lives, across OECD member countries and all around the world, we rely on our strong engagement with many key stakeholders, including business. The OECD has long had a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with ICC. This Memorandum of Understanding will formalise and further strengthen our cooperation, in particular around exchange of information and data and the dissemination of OECD reports, policies, standards and best practices.”
